It's do much more glamorous, the attention to detail is very obvious. Drinks were Gr8. We visited this pub after an exhibition at the Art Gallery of Ontario as it is walking distance. A large assortment of beers to choose from in addition to an amazing meal. I had a lamb shank and veggies, potatoes that was delicious.
Oh and the chocolate cake was a massive, multi layered piece of goodness. We had to take most of it home. Service started out slowly but I think we got there at shift change. Once our server changed it was excellent. The decor is dark and eclectic with open windows to the street. It was a busy place to say the least and we were fortunate enough to get a table to partake of a very enjoyable meal. Worth a return visit. We arrived and were quickly and cheerfully seated at a comfy table near the bar.
The place was about half full when we arrived but by the time we left after 9 pm it was pretty. The food was equally good - a nice Charcuterie plate, excellent cheese croquettes, flat breads and a killer waffle dessert. Our server Kailey was newly back from a two year hiatus in Ireland and was supper knowledgeable, friendly and efficient.
We got talking and she told us she had friends from Punkeydoodles corners - right around the corner from us. Small world. An excellent visit and a lot of fun. We stopped in late afternoon on a hot day - we were just checking out the area and needed a stop for a drink and snack. They seemed annoyed we were there and with us bringing three kids in kids weren't acting up yet when they seemed annoyed and were pretty good the whole time really.
We got the belgium waffles with ice cream and they were absolutely amazing! Worth the stop for sure!
